Miss Peter's Paint

We've got color!

Thanks to my Aunt Viki for making the trip to Indianapolis to paint our nursery! She painted the walls a beautiful light sage green to match the bedding we selected from Pottery Barn Kids.

I have a vision of a calming nursery that is cute and also girly. We still have lots of work to do in the next 2 1/2 months, but now that the walls are painted, I can start hunting for accessories and decorating!

Third trimester and ultrasound

Today was my 28 week appointment with an ultrasound. Under normal circumstances, we would not have had this extra ultrasound, but last time my fundal height was measuring a little large. So, the doctor said we'd take a look at an ultrasound to see why. Everything turned out to be normal, and it was great to see our little girl again! She is lying sideways across my belly, which probably accounts for some of the discrepancy in size.

She looks like a little doll baby!

Facing us-we could see the lens of her eye

Here you can see the bottom half of her face with an open mouth

Me at 28 weeks- still feeling good overall but occasionally having some achy joints. Excited to be in the third trimester and can't wait to meet this little girl!

99 days and counting...

The countdown application on my computer told me this weekend that we only have 99 days left until our baby girl arrives! Of course, we know the actual number of days we have to wait is completely up to her... We're so excited and anticipate that the next few months will fly by!

Ready for our first wedding of the season!

6 months!

This week we reached the 24-week mark and for some reason that seems like a milestone to me. Six months pregnant sure sounds far along, but I know I still (hopefully) have several months to go.

It's funny how the beginning of my pregnancy seemed to drag on forever, with each day feeling like a week. Now the time is flying by! With so much to do including registering for all the necessary items and planning the theme/decor of the nursery, I still feel I have quite a bit of work cut out for me this spring and summer. Fortunately, I have family and friends who are willing to help!

The bump at 24 weeks...seems to be rounding out a little more!

I'm continuing to feel well and enjoying feeling the kicks and movement throughout the day...and night, as of last night. Each position change during sleep brought on a barrage of kicks. Hopefully that's not the start of a trend!

It's finally springtime in Indianapolis! These are the first flower buds at our new house (with the exception of the flowers I already planted). We continue to look forward to the look of our new house with the surrounding plants in full bloom.

Springtime blooms

Happy spring! It makes me so happy to have warmer weather and sunshine. I was also thrilled this week to see some flowers blooming! It's been fun for me to walk through the new neighborhood and see buds on trees and people out landscaping.

These flowers aren't the only things blooming though...

22 weeks

I'm doing well and excited to finally feel some kicks! They started a couple of weeks ago while I was in surgery. I was closing the incision on a patient when I felt three little kicks in my lower abdomen. It made me jump! I thought at first that it was the patient moving, but then realized it was Miss Peter (our temporary girly name for her). It was so exciting! Now I feel her move several times a day. She seems to get excited right after I eat and at night while I am lying down to go to sleep. Bryce has even been able to feel her move. What a highlight!

The Bump

I had Bryce start taking pictures of my profile at around 14 weeks. It has been fun to see the progression, so I thought I'd share how much I've grown in the past 6 weeks! As of today, I am halfway through this pregnancy.

I've been feeling well overall and am just coping with this constantly growing belly. I'm feeling big already and I know I still have a long way to go. It's becoming a challenge to find outfits that work and I'm venturing out now to buy maternity clothes. Just one of the many joys of pregnancy!

Nursery Progress

This weekend we had both sets of parents and Bryce's sister Jill here to visit and see our new place. We had a great time catching up and trying out some new restaurants in the area.

Sunday afternoon my mother, mother-in-law, and I went for a walk and came back to a fun surprise--the men were assembling the crib! The crib was a gift from Bryce's parents and I have been excited to see it out of the box ever since we got it. The guys did a great job and I'm so happy to have one thing taken care of for the nursery. I now pop my head into the nursery on a daily basis and smile!

Such a good dad already :)

Gene, Bryce, and Steve show off their crib-assembling muscles.
Thanks for your hard work, men!
